One of the best plants for beginners (or folks too busy to keep most houseplants alive). This sturdy plant is wonderfully easy to grow; it tolerates just about every indoor condition. While it's one of the toughest plants, it's also beautiful.

You can grow Chinese evergreen just about anywhere in your home, it tolerates low light well, but also grows well in bright spots.

It doesn't even need natural light to thrive --- Chinese evergreen does just fine in offices with fluorescent lighting.

The plant is equally low-care when it comes to water; you can water regularly, keeping the soil evenly  moist, or water once every few weeks and Chinese evergreen will do equally well.

She's so cute!

She's still tiny and loves her own lamp!

Beautfiul plant that's not doing too so well

So I was initially very impressed because I received my plant a full week later (thanks to mailing hold ups, not anything I hold against the shop) and it was still alive and looking well (it had come out of part of its packaging so roots were exposed but the soil didn't get everywhere except within the wrapped plant so I am still pretty impressed with the shipping job). But it started fading (and fast) the first week I've had it (hence the 4 instead of 5 stars). I can't figure out the care. I followed this site's suggestions. I've seen some blogs suggest keeping the soil moist and misting the plant. We'll see if I can rebab it, but it did arrive looking as pictured.
